Two enthusiastic supporters of Phoenix Brass, Mr & Mrs George and Nora Edwards inspired the band to form a support organisation and in 1994 FRIENDS OF PHOENIX came into being. With a membership that includes parents, relatives, friends and enthusiastic listeners they have supported the band in every possible way.

 Highly enthusiastic fund raising, providing refreshments for concerts, transport for players and running social events for band members has continued throughout it’s existence under the guidance and hard work of it’s excellent secretaries and officers, in particular Christine Amphlet (1st Secretary) and Doreen and Cyril Palmer.    Their support has been incalculable and without them the band would have found it much harder to exist.

 Sadly, George and Nora Edwards and Cyril Palmer are no longer with us, but their spirit survives and their families are still active supporters.  Doreen Palmer has just stepped down from the position of Chairperson.
